Following a tragic boat mishap that claimed a teacher’s life, he personally sponsored and donated life vests to these educators. Because of his generosity, those who devoted their lives to teaching could safely return home to their own families.

His philanthropy also extended to the giving of his time. He was a tireless servant to his community, offering a decade of leadership as the President of the Theravada Buddhist Society of America (TBSA) and serving as the Past President of the Burmese American Democratic Alliance (BADA).
